TRL Synthetics (formerly Red River Synthetics) started in 2002 with a suggestion from a friend who wanted me to try AMSOIL.

As a skeptic and wanting my own performance numbers, I paid for my dealership so I could buy at wholesale prices, and I tried it for myself. I put my pickup to the test and drove from Fargo down to Watertown, SD to see Andy Wicks of Dynotune, Inc. Dynotuneusa. We put my 1996 F-150 on the dyno for a before and after the test. I swapped over all the fluids in the drivetrain, keeping oil and gear lube viscosities the same.

 

After changing the drivetrain of my 1996 F-150 4x4 over to AMSOIL and putting it on dyno, we were both impressed with the results and I was sold. I picked up more than 5 horsepower and 9 ft/lb of torque peak-to-peak! Averages also went up 6hp and 8 ft/lb!

 

Additionally, I topped off my fuel tank before I left Fargo, filled up right as I got there, topped off before I left, and finally filled up back where I started. I had the same driving conditions going down and coming back from Watertown. The result of my fuel mileage test: an increase of 1.2 mpg!

 

So, not only did I pick up more power, I also got better fuel mileage as well! The rest, as they say, is history and it's now in every vehicle I own. See the results for yourself below!
